Slope intercept form y= mx+b

Given equaton 3x+6y = 12

Apply subtraction property, subtract 3x from each side.

3x+6y-3x = 12-3x

6y = 12-3x

Apply division property, divide by6 to each side.

6y/6 = 12/6-3x/6

y = 2+(-1/2)x

y = (-1/2)x+2

If y=0

0 = (-1/2)x+2

-2 = (-1/2)x

-2 *-2 = x

x = 4

If x =

y = (-1/2)0+2

y = 2

Graph

Draw a graph to eqation y = -(1/2)x+2 and

intercept points are (2,0) (0,4)

Everything is correct, but the points on the graph are represented vice versa. the pints are (4, 0) and (0, 2).

Slope - intercept - form of a line equation is y = mx + c, where, m is slope and c is y - intercept.

The equation 3x + 6y = 12

6y = - 3x + 12

y = -x/2 + 2

To find x intercept substitute y = 0 in y = -x/2 + 2

0 = (-1/2)x + 2

-2 = (-1/2)x

-2 *-2 = x

x  = 4

x  intercept is (4,0)

To find y  intercept  x  = 0 in y = -x /2 + 2.

y  = (-1/2)0+2

y  = 2

intercept is (0,2)

Graph

Draw the coordinate plane.

Plot the x  and intercepts.

Draw a line through these points.
