Standard form of an equation ax+by  = c

Given equation is y = 9/4x+3/4

Subtract 9/4x,3/4 from each side.

y-9/4x-3/4 = 9/4x+3/4-9/4x-3/4

y -9/4x-3/4 = 0

(4y-9x-3)/4 = 0

Divide to each side by 4.

4(4y-9x-3)/4 = 0/4

4y-9x-3 = 0

Multiple to each side by negitive one.

9x-4y+3 = 0

Subtract 3 from each side.

9x-4y+3-3 = 0-3

9x-4y = -3

a = 9, b = -4, c = -3

NOTE :

The standard form line equation is Ax + By = C. A shouldn't be negative, A and B shouldn't both be zero, and A, B and C should be integers.

The equation is y = (9/4)x + (3/4).

Eliminate the fractions by multiplying the equation with 4.

4y = 9x + 3

Subtract 4y from each side.

0 = 9x - 4y + 3

Subtract 3 from each side.

9x - 4y = - 3.
